Picket Fence Studios + WOW! Embossing Collaboration = Happy Erica

HI guys!

Today I am hopping along with the Picket Fence Studios and WOW! Embossing teams to celebrate our collaboration. I am a big fan of both of these companies and I’m such a lucky girl to be on both of their Design Teams. Heat embossing is one of my favourite techniques and big, bold flowers are my favourite image to colour in. How perfect is that??

I could have made this so easy for myself, and predictable for you, by using flowers BUT I decided to basically throw myself outside of the box, rather than just stepping outside of it, and do something different!

I started out by making two rainbow backgrounds by drawing lines of Copics across a card base. You start with one colour, then blend that into the next colour, and so on and so on. These are quick and fun to make! I have a video on my YouTube channel showing the process in almost real-time. It’s been sped up a little bit, but you will still get to see the colouring and how the colours react to each other.

Next I cut out then pieces of the Y’all Word Die from Picket Fence Studios, nine out of white card stock and one out of black card stock. These I layered up with liquid glue and set aside. I also cut out the shadow part in white and black.

On the white Y’all, I used White Twinkle embossing glitter, and on the black one I used Midnight Dreams.

I have a little hack for heat embossing word dies, that saves your fingers from getting burnt, and that’s using a cork board with pointy tweezers. Up on my YouTube channel you can see this trick in action in several videos, and I made one for these cards too!

Lastly, I used a couple of stamps from another Picket Fence Studios stamp set: Seriously, Literally, Always to finish off the sentiment on the cards so that they say ‘OMG. Seriously, Y’all, no, just no’. I heat embossed these, including one that I had to cut up to make it possible to use them all at the same time, in Opaque Bright White. Before stamping these up with the Embossing Pad, I used my anti-static tool very generously beforehand.

Well, that’s it from me for today! Now it’s time to hop on and see the rest of the teams makes. Don’t forget to leave comments on this post and along the rest of the hop, to increase your chances of winning some fabulous prizes!

  1. Very cute! Although, I can’t imagine for what purpose one would send these. I like to think someone in this world is just sending shiny, glittery, rainbow announcements to alert people of when they’re being idiots. I’m totally ok with that!! XD

    1. I think sometimes it’s fun to send sparkly (snarky) cards to friends who share your sense of humour 😆

  3. I love a good snarky sentiment and have at least a handful of friends I could send these to that would totally appreciate the sentiment. LOL

  6. I don’t know which I like more, the depth of color on your rainbow backgrounds (most rainbow stuff is just insipid) or the snarky sentiment!

  7. Uhmmm? Not sure for what occasion, but they are magnificently sparkly and that’s what matters! Then whoa, one must love to color, but then again an amazing job. Interesting and yay sparkly! Thanks for the smiles and thought process and please stay well! Ps I too cannot function without my tweezers!
