Heffy Doodle and Catherine Pooler Collaboration Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to the Heffy Doodle and Catherine Pooler DesignsCollaboration Blog Hop!

Our design teams have come together to share some inspiration with the new Heffy Doodle and Catherine Poolerreleases, and there is a prize up for grabs, too!

On a card base, I used the Fancy Foliage stencil directly. With a Life Changing Blender Brush I started in the middle and ink blended Melon Ice in a circle. Then I moved on to Lime Rickey around the edges. To darken the frame of leaves, I also added a tiny bit of Grass Skirt in the corners and along the sides.

I cleaned up the stencil a little, placed it back over the leaves and then added Nuvo Glimmer paste in Moonstone around the edges. While I set this aside to dry, I got working on a sentiment and a monkey.

The monkey, from Chimply The Best, was stamped up with Copic friendly ink on Neenah card stock and then coloured in with Copics. I also used the coordinating diecut to cut him out. While I was die cutting I also cut out pieces for the Happy, using the Happy x Three diecut. I used green and yellow card stock, to keep with the jungle and banana theme.

When everything was dry, layered up and diecut, it was quick work to assemble the card.

I hung the cheeky monkey from the Hello and added a strip saying ‘Birthday to you’ to finish off the card.

I love how the glimmer paste make those leaves pop off the card. Almost like a leafy canopy tunnel, right? The cheeky look on the monkey’s face is just too adorable as well and plays in with the fun aspect of of the card.

With this one final look at the card, it’s now time to get to the fun stuff:
