Today it’s my turn to take part in my dear friend Michelle Lupton’s annual CASE Me A Christmas Card Series! Or rather, we thought it was today, it was actually yesterday but both Michelle and I were foiled by time zone converters, lol!
I’m so excited as Michelle and I are rainbow-loving-sisters-from-another-mister, so of course I had to use one of her many, many amazing rainbow cards as my inspiration.
This stunning card was just begging to be CASE’d. In case you haven’t heard of CASE before, it stands for Copy And Selectively Edit. It’s basically what we all do when we see inspiration and then put our own spin on it.
So I took this gorgeous design and put my own spin on it, two different ways. First of all I heat embossed the Holiday Sentiments Strips stamp from Hero Arts in Bright White embossing powder from WOW! Embossing, on two different panels. One on water colour paper, and one on Neenah #110 white card stock.
On the water colour panel, I used my DIY glitter sprays made with Liquid Pixie Dust from Inkon3 and reinkers from Pinkfresh Studios. With sprays you have very little control over where the colours go, and what is going to happen, so it’s best to just spray and let it do it’s thing.
On the second panel I ink blended Inkon3 Atelier inks in Bee Sting Yellow, Marigold Orange, Sweet Petunia Pink, Peacock Blue and Goddess Green. Over this I spritzed a little bit of the DIY yellow glitter spray, as well as gold splatters. Sufficient to say it’s very sparkly!
Because the stamp is perfectly sized for an A2/5.5″x4.25″ card size, I decided to simply add these panels to card bases. One of them isn’t perfectly heat embossed, so I wanted to cover that up.
I did that with Metallic Gold Pearls from Pinkfresh Studio on the ink blended card, and Clear Iridescent Pearls on the glitter spray card. Here I have done my usual ‘Lets. Use. All. Of. The. BLING!’ thing, but I love, love, love how it turned out!

Today I’m popping in with a couple of cards that I made for the June Pinkfresh Studio Challenge. The theme for this month couldn’t be a better fit for me: it’s Rainbows!!
How gorgeous is that graphic? And not just because that lower right card is mine!! We are not going to be talking about that one though, we are going to be talking about these two:
This one is mostly done with the leftover inks from the super bright one. Pretty amazing, right? It does help to get more definition and depth if you go slightly lighter than you think you might need to, on the first layer.
The key to the rainbow layering is to ink blend the same colour over the same parts of the stencils, on each and every layer.
With more of the leftover ink, I created the soft background on another panel I had also heat embossed with the Garden Rose image. This one was a bit of a mishap, as I actually forgot to ink up the image before pouring on the embossing powder, so it was only the tiniest bit of embossing ink on the paper.. that’s what happens sometimes when you are engrossed in a true crime podcast and forget where you were in the card making process.
The card with the white background is also heat embossed with the same Garden Rose stamp, with the help of a big MISTI, so I could get the whole piece covered. This one I left white though.
The Jewels I used on the white card are the Glacier ones, and they are probably my faves out of the entire Essentials Jewels Mix.

Today I’m popping in to show you a card I made for the May Pinkfresh challenge, where the theme is Anything Spring. If you haven’t heard of this challenge before, you have been missing out. Just by participating, and linking up your card by May 31st, you are in with a chance to win a $50 gift card to the Pinkfresh Studio shop!
You can use the graphic as a mood board if you want, and the colours as inspiration but honestly, anything spring themed is ok. Just make sure that your project features mostly Pinkfresh products, as they are the ones hosting the challenge.
Now, if you know me, I can use florals for ANY season but spring is a no-brainer. One of my all-time fave sets is the Blooming Branch set. It was released in September last year, and I still love it and use it. Probably a bit too much, but hey, that shows what good value for money it is, doesn’t it??
I started out by heat embossing the Blooming Branch outline stamp with Opaque Bright White embossing powder from WOW! Embossing. There is something so luxurious about heat embossing and I love the effect of it.
Over this I have used the Blooming Branch layering stencils with the inks and blender brushes. I am super extra and have a blender brush for each ink colour, so avoid colour contamination and I must admit that I love having these on hand.
Once the ink blending was done, I used the coordinating diecut to cut the image out, as well as another two pieces out of plain card stock, to layer it up with.
The background I kept very white, but very textured with the help of the lovely Floral & Diamonds cover plate. I also cut out an A2 frame using the Essentials Folk Edge Rectangle dies.
Of course I needed a sentiment too, and I stamped one from the Blooming Branch stamp set on some mint-ish coloured card stock. This was trimmed down and adhered to the card base and then the Blooming Branch image was adhered on top.
The last thing was to add some Glacier jewels… ok, ok, maybe more than a few, but hey, it works!

I’m back with some more Pinkfresh flowery cards today. For these cards I have used the colour scheme from the December challenge but mixed it with the Blooming Branch set. I’m slightly in denial about Christmas being so close so any excuse to use flowers and blooms, I’m in.
The idea was to get a softer look on the white and more vivid on the gold. The opacity of the ink blending is actually about the same, but it does make the colours pop or soften up, with the different colours. My fave is the Rich Gold.
All of these have been ink blended with blending brushes, because that is the blending tool that works best for me to get a smooth blend.
I wanted a bit of a rainbow look still (surprise, surprise, I know… ) so I started with the Sunshine in the middle, and then went pink and red towards the top and the teal and turquoise towards the bottom.
You don’t actually need that many colours to get a rainbow look, as by blending the colours together you get more than the actual numbers of inks you use. For example, yellow and red/pink, will make orange and yellow and blue makes green, and so forth.
To get this look, you add the colours in the same areas on each layer of stencil. Think in terms of lines across your stencil, if you will. You just keep building it up as you go through your stencils, and eventually you end up with this fun rainbow look.
With the colours all added, I cut them both out with the coordinating diecut and on the back of these, I added foam tape to raise them up on the card. However, I had to make my backgrounds first and the sentiments too, of course.
Luckily for me, it was foiled to the paper, but the Opal hot foil is very subtle. It looks more like an embossing folder, than hot foiling. Which is another use for your hot foil plates! You can actually use them to add dry embossing, and add pattern to your card stock as well as use them for hot foiling.
The background pieces were trimmed down a little and then directly adhered to a card base each. On top of these I added the Blooming Branch pieces, the sentiments and then I just had to add some Jewels to add even more pizzazz! I can’t help myself, I love these Jewels and they are such a perfect finishing touch.

Today I’m guesting for the Ellen Hutson 12 Tags of Christmas event, and the Christmas carol that is designated for today is Christmas In A Coffee Shop. How perfect is that?? I mean, I am pretty much running on caffeine and sass, lol!
This event is a two-for-one, so one of the Ellen Hutson design team members are teamed up with a guest, and we each get a Christmas Carol to use as the inspiration for our tags. You can find Adelina’s blog post HERE, and also Ellen’s introductory blog post with her fabulously creative tag HERE!

In all honesty, I haven’t started listening to Christmas music yet, as it’s still sunny and mild here on the Mediterranean coast of Valencia. In fact, only yesterday my Mamma and I spent a good chunk of the day at the beach basking in the sunshine!
However, colouring images is always fun and I do adore these bears from the Weather Weather In The Woods stamp set. I have done one as a polar bear and one as a brown bear, and matched up their sweaters to the rest of the tags.
The bears were cut out with the coordinating diecut and on the back, I added some foam squares, to add some height to the bears.
The polar bear got a nice blue sweater as well as a blue plaid tag, plus a galaxy blue-ish tag too. This is created by sprinkling Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Meteorite Shower on wet water colour paper. I didn’t mix it up a lot as I wanted the different colours to shine through.
I did a similar thing for the brown bear’s tag, only I used Golden Sparkler Nuvo Shimmer Powder. The colours in this fit better with his green sweater and green plaid tag. The tag die I have used for all of these pieces is actually a Combo Swatch die from Waffle Flower, it was the perfect size for my tags.
The finishing touches were a few little snowflake dies, cut out with the adorable Winter Tiny Tags diecut from Lawn Fawn. I also heat embossed ‘do not open until the 25th’ on them with Rich Gold embossing powder, this is from the coordinating Tiny Tag Sayings stamp set. While I had the tag die out, I also cut out one silver and one gold snowflake out of glitter card stock, to layer up with the heat embossed one.
A bit of ribbon and a pompom later and the tags were done!

We have more mini slimline diecuts, both actual diecuts and cover plates and I do love me some cover plates. It’s such a fun way to add some interest to a background, I love, love, love doing that as I’m not that great with plain white space. Somehow it doesn’t feel quite as naked when it has texture, you know what I mean?
This is the Parisienne Mini Slimline, it also comes in full-size slimline, but I do prefer the mini-slimline myself. For sure. Here I used the Parisienne Mini Slimline on a white card stock, after using it on a panel created with Distress Oxide sprays. You can see the colours in the pattern, which adds a really cool effect. If you don’t want this extra colour, just make sure to clean your cover plate between using it on ink blended or sprayed backgrounds.
I love that subtle texture and pattern, over these colours. The Hello is the Hello Shadow Word die, and I filled in the hello itself with Rainbow Illusion gems. That part took ages, but it does look so cool!
Here is what it looked like before I added the gems.
Another pattern is the Pagoni Mania Mini Slimline, and it was just begging to be bedazzled. At least that’s what I heard. This is another background made with Distress Oxide sprays, I’m slightly obsessed with them at the moment and have added quite a few to my collection recently. Eh, what’s a girl to do when her ICDQ (Inner Crafty Drama Queen for those of you who don’t speak fluent cray-cray) is screaming she needs more??
Here I was going for a rich brocade fabric look, with blues, red, purples and gold, and then added Blue Illusion gems on the pattern in places where it was practically made for them. How perfect is that? It’s like this holder for gems, isn’t it?
This card was finished off super simple by heat embossing sentiments in Rich Gold embossing powder on vellum strips. These have been wrapped around the panel and secured on the back.
As I have such a hard time with white space, I used the Parisienne Mini Slimline cover plate on the whole thing and it was just what the crafty doctor ordered.
A simple sentiment banner was the final thing for this card, and I’m quite proud of myself for not adding a single gem on this one! That’s hard for a self-confessed over-sequinizer/embellisher.
Not that the lack of embellishment lasted long mind you. I used a fair amount of them on my next card, also done with the Special Delivery stamp set. What can I say? You can only rein in the bling-monster so long.
For this card I stamped the floral image off to the side and coloured it in with a cool colour scheme of pink, grey and turquoise.
It’s finished off with the Hello Shadow word die again, and lots of Sparkle Golden Illusion gems. By cutting out the shadow part of the Hello, which has the stitching to add interest, it helped with the white space for me.
Well, with that I am all done for today. I hope you have found some inspiration here with me today. It’s another Pinkfresh Studio blog post today, with some cards using the Garden Roses set from the newest release. Have you seen it yet? Oh, my gosh, so many gorgeous florals.
I haven’t even used all of the new layering stencils yet, I got kind of wrapped up with the Lush Peonies set. I love how easy it is to add pops of colour using the layering stencils, and also how user friendly they are. For those who are not confident with colouring, this is a great solution!
Oh, and the Blooming Branch set. It’s so lovely and delicate. This I had a lot of fun with, and I’m definitely not done with it.
But I digress. So far I’ve made 12 cards with the new release, and that isn’t even with all the products released. It was time to use the Garden Roses set!
I absolutely love florals, and flowers in general. *good job on stating the obvious, Erica*
One thing that I find really great about these florals is that they cover an A2 card, so you can keep them the focal point and just add your own spin to backgrounds and other details. Oh, and changing up the colour scheme of course. So many colours. Why pick just one, when you can use them all?? Or different from what would be found in nature, because why not? Let your imagination run wild and see what happens?
For these cards I have gone quite natural with pinks and reds. No crazy combos, just yet, but I totally haven’t ruled it out yet! That’s the fun thing about crafting, you don’t have to make it realistic, go nuts with colours that make your creativity go ‘oh yes, let’s do that!’
My first card is done by using only the Garden Roses Layering Stencils and ink blending pinks, Sparkling Rose, Bubble Gum and Raspberry Bliss, for the roses and Grassy Knoll for the leaves. I used the same green on both layers, but on the first one I used what was left on my Grassy Knoll blender brush. I’ve recently gone a bit extra and bought enough blender brushes so I could have one for each one of my Pinkfresh inks… it’s a bit nuts, but what can I say? I got a great deal on them, and was on the ‘organising zone’. Stay away from that zone if you don’t want to get swept up in organising purchases that might be hard to explain. Just FYI.
With the coordinating diecut I cut the floral image out, and I also cut out another two pieces out of white card stock. These I layered up with liquid adhesive, and then I set that aside while I worked on the background.
On a slim banner I stamped up ‘It’s been too long‘ in Black ink and after adhering the floral image to the card base, I adhered that too. I nearly stopped here but could my bling-loving heart agree with me? Nope. So I got a few… a good sprinkling… ok, ok, a GENEROUS sprinkling of Ballet Slipper jewels out and dotted them around the image and then I could finally stop.
I do like how it turned out though, but I understand that not everyone loves bling to the level I do.
The next Garden Roses image was also ink blended but this time with Coral Reef,Passion Fruit and Berrylicious for the flowers, and Key Lime and Olive for the leaves. I used the coordinating diecut on this image as well, and then loaded it up with foam squares on the back to create height and dimension. It’s nice to try different ways of add dimension, and see what works best for you and what you prefer.
The background for this card is done with matte gold foil and the Diagonal Hot Foil plate. Oh, gold and white is such a classic combo, isn’t it?? I trimmed this panel down a little and adhered that to a card base.
I will say that it took me a long time to get to grips with hot foiling, but despite swearing like a sailor at times because it wasn’t working, I’m glad I stuck with it. I have the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil system, for those of you wondering.
The floral image was adhered to this and only then did I start thinking of sentiments.. oy! Sometimes you get a bit carried away and have to work around what you have already committed to ie glued down! This happens to me more often than not… not going to lie.
I grabbed a friend word diecut that I already had cut out, and stamped up ‘you are amazing’ in Black Ink on another slim banner. This is from the Lush Peonies stamp set. These were then layered up on top of the roses and a Stargazer jewel was used as the dot over the ‘I’ as I had lost that.
The final card was done by heat embossing the outline stamp from the Garden Floral set on heavy weight vellum. Then I flipped this over and grabbed the stencils too. These I turned over, and used the ‘wrong’ way to add colour to the back of the vellum for a super soft look.
The white heat embossing stayed crisp and bright white this way, and I loved how it turned out. This was adhered to a piece of white card stock to make sure the colours were forced to shine through.

I’m popping in today with a quick card I made with mostly “leftovers” from previous crafting sessions, for the Pinkfresh Studio new monthly challenge. Each month there is a new theme and colour scheme, and this month it’s Fall/Fall Holidays and this is the inspiration graphic.
My interpretation is more based on the colour scheme than the theme, but that’s ok. If you think you have to be super literal with your interpretation, don’t worry. That’s not the point at all. While I was preparing to be on the Craft Hour last month, I foiled so many of the Thankful for Friends image. It’s slightly addicting, especially when you have zero willpower like I do.. I really need to get a grip with using up everything I prep and make while on a roll, so this card was an effort to do just that.
Below you can see some of the cards I ended up finishing after the Craft Hour.
I also had an Thankful For Friends image heatembossed, so I thought I’d use that with the coordinating Layering Stencils. That way I could use up one more piece but still add colour to it. Using the stencils I have ink blended a bit of Misty Coast and Rocky Slope with blender brushes, over the stem and for the flowers themselves I used only Tidal Pond. This soft look is achieved by picking up the ink from the lid, where I tap off excess ink and get it covering the brush evenly, rather than from the ink pad directly. It’s one of my better ideas for sure!
The last layer of the stencil I did use, but not with more inks, but rather Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone. I think I did learn something with this though. You see, I did this before cutting it out, which flattened the Glimmer Paste a little. The better way to do it would be to cut it out first, and then add that afterwards. You can use a little bit of washi tape to hold the image in place.
When I was happy with the ink blending and glitz (and that had dried), I used the coordinating diecut and cut it out. Previously, I had cut out a ton of extra pieces for layering up, and I used one of these extra pieces to add some height. I also used one of the Hot Foiled images. This one is done with Matte Gold on Stormcloud card stock.
These pieces I set aside while I decided on the background. I also had a load of Abstract Triangle Hot Foiled panels, and I grabbed one of these. It turned out this is Matte Gold too, so that coordinated perfectly. It did need a little something though, so I added a light touch of Apricot and Clementine ink around the edges. It really made the gold foiling pop even more! The middle was left white so that the flowers would look like they glowed, sort of.
The final thing to do was to heat emboss one of the sentiments from the Thankful For Friends set, in Rich Gold embossing powder from WOW! Embossing powder. This was adhered with a little bit of foam tap and with that the card was done!
So, there is a lot going on with this card, but despite the colours not being my first colour combo choice, I do think it works.

Today I’m hopping along with the Pinkfresh Studio design team and friends to celebrate the September release. You should have come here from the amazing Emily Mydlowski, an actual in real life crafty friend of mine!! I’m the last stop on the hop, but if you want to hop along, the Pinkfresh Studio blog is the next/first stop.
Well, what can I say? It’s another fabulously floral release and I’m sure many of you are going to be going as gaga over it as I have been since I saw it. You might ask yourself how many floral stamps you need, and I have too, believe me. However, with every release I add another one (or two.. three… sometimes more) to my fave list. Another thing I am SUPER DUPER EXCITED about is the solid hot foil plate!! Such a genius idea by the one and only Heather Hoffman herself! No more wasted foil!
My profession, before I stopped working, was a florist, and I absolutely LOVED it. Even a stressful day was wonderful because I was surrounded by flowers and got to create bouquets and floral arrangements all day. Best job ever. One of my all time favourite flowers is the peony, so when I saw the Lush Peonies set I had to use it pronto. I mean, I H-A-D to, it felt like it was the law, basically.
I love the genius idea with the layering stencils, and the coordinating diecut. To me, it also makes the set more versatile, as it gives peeps who might not be confident with their colouring the option of adding colour effortlessly (not to mention fast!) to the image. Or even on it’s own. You don’t actually need the outline stamps, it does give a softer look when you use the stencils on their own. The diecut is a must in my book though, a fussy cutter I am not! Nope, no, not doing it unless I really, REALLY have to.
Naturally, I couldn’t just do one card. Oh no, that would be far too easy. I did no less than seven panels, because heck, I was on a roll. It’s like I think I will be cursed if I only do one or two! I’ve also recently cracked the hot foil thing, that eluded me for ages, and now I can’t stop! I have the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil system.
So my first two cards are done by using the Lush Peonies Layering Stencils only. These are true one-layer cards, which isn’t usual for me at all. *pats self on the back* I used yellows, pinks and greens for them both, with Lemon Whip and Sunshine for the yellow flowers, Grassy Knoll and Key Lime for the leaves and a touch of Ballet Slipper for the small flowers and middles of the big ones.
On the pink card I used left over Sparkling Rose as the first layer, and then a good inking of the same colour for the details. Mint and Grassy Knoll for the leaves and a touch of Sunshine for the small yellow flowers and middles of the big ones.
Gold foil on the yellow one and Rose Gold on the pink card, and I must admit that I absolutely love that little touch! They don’t even need anything else, in my opinion. And that’s saying something coming from a chronic over-sequinizer/over-embellisher!
The next two cards are done with the Lush Peony Layering Stencils again, by mixing yellows and pinks to create a more peachy look. One is more pink than peach, but that’s because of the level of ink on the second layer.
This is another fun thing about stencils! You can get such different results by changing up/adding/mixing colours! I love that so much.
On these I used the Lush Peonies outline stamp, and heat embossed it in Rich Gold on the more pinky one, and Rose Gold on the more peachy one. I didn’t manage to line up the stamp perfectly on the pinky one, but I don’t actually think it matters too much to be honest. It adds to the whimsical, romantic style.
So both these cards also got a hot foiled Celebrate, but these were done on white card stock and cut out with the coordinating diecut. These were then added to the cards, but instead of doing them both the same way, I turned one of the panels upside down to give a bit of a different look. They work both ways, actually. One was in Rose Gold and one was done in Matte Gold.
The last two cards are more elaborate for sure. Hot foiling, die cutting, layering, ink blending, stacking, heat embossing and stamping… it’s pretty much all going on.
First off I used the Chevron Hot Foil plate with Rose Gold foil on white card stock, for a background. This was trimmed down and adhered to a white card base. That foil is a real nightmare to photograph, but I have added loads to give you different angles to give you the idea of how it really looks.
The flowers are done with the Lush Peonies Layering Stencils, in rich pinks, Sparkling Rose and Bubble Gum, with a touch of Sunshine for the small flowers and middles of the big ones. The leaves are done in Mint, and I used it for both layers. I just made sure I let it dry in between so it didn’t melt into the first layer.
The last card is also stacked up a lot, both the floral image itself and the background. The striped background was made by cutting out Stripes of Soft Stone card stock from Gina K, and glueing these down onto white card stock. This was then trimmed down and had foam tape added to the back of it, before that was added to a white card base.
To say this is a fat card is not an exaggeration. This will definitely need to be hand delivered! The final touch was a silver hot foiled Celebrate, that was also cut out using the coordinating diecut.

Today I’m sharing a couple of cards using the English Garden layering stencils from Pinkfresh Studio. One of them ended up with a mishap, but I think it’s important to show those too, and how to fix them.
I have used the same supplies for both cards, only different shades of the colours, and finished with different colours of embossing powders. Oh, and one has bling on it and the other doesn´t. *insert shocked gasps here*
There is also a little bit of yellow that was leftover on one of the blender brushes, just for a softening of the green. To keep that look soft I heat embossed the outline stamp in white and then cut them out using the coordinating diecut.
On the second panel I used Grassy Knoll for the leaves, and Sparkling Rose for the flowers. This gave a much more intense look, so I decided to heat emboss the outline stamp with gold, before cutting these out.
With all the pieces done, I got the Inverted Diamond stencil out and ink blended a bit of Fresh Pear over two pieces of card stock. One was done with a soft hand, for a light touch of the colour, and the other one was done with lots of ink for a more intense look. On this one I also used that brush with the yellow ink on it too, but again, only what was left on the brush.
These are both trimmed down to 5.25¨x4¨, and one was adhered directly to a card base to keep it sort of flat. The other was adhered with foam tape, and this is where the mistake was made, as I forgot all about a sentiment.
I should have stamped it before adding the foam tape to the back, because I could not get it to stamp no matter what I did after it was adhered. I ended up having to fill it in with a TomBow brush marker, and it’s not overly noticeable from a distance but I will always know it’s there.
On this card I cut the wreath in half and adhered both of them to the opposite corners, and added some of the other flower clusters on top, to fill in the empty space.
To give the second card a bit of dimension and life, I cut out two more of the wreaths using the coordinating die, and layered these up with the actual ink blended wreath. I also added another few of the flower clusters to this to bulk it up a little.
I remembered the stamping problem for this one thankfully, so I stamped up the sentiment with the help of my MISTI and made sure it was nice and solid, before adhering the flower wreath. The one I picked is from the Sweet Friend Florals stamp set.
A few, or many, depending on your outlook on bling, of the Glacier jewels were added too. I love these, they go with everything.
