Colourful news, collaborations and lots of shenanigans!

Hi guys, how are you today? All good, I hope. I’ve got lots to cover today, so let’s dive right in!

First of all, let’s talk about a fun collaboration between Picket Fence Studios and MFT Stamps! As part of this collaboration MFT Stamps generously sent me some inks to play with, and I mixed these with some fun Picket Fence goodies for a couple of colourful cards.

My first card is super simple to make, I used a small tree stamp from the Joyeux Noel set and on a white card base I stamped this repeatedly using six of the inks: Lemon Chiffon, Limelight, Summer Splash, Cotton Candy, Grape Jelly and Cement Gray.

I did this in three rows and then on top of this I stamped up ‘May your holiday be full of CHEER’ in Black Hybrid ink from Picket Fence.

Naturally, I couldn’t leave it simple, so I practically bedazzled the cards with gems from several gem mixes. Colour coordinated, of course.

For my second card, I used one of my fave stencils from Picket Fence: the Soar Butterfly stencil! I incidentally used the exact colours as on the first card, only this time I ink blended them using Life Changing Blender Brushes.

On the first card you can see how vibrant the colours are, and on the second you can see how easily they blend, for a soft look.

To make the butterfly stand out better, I cut out a mask and ink blended Cement Gray around this. The mask is done by tracing the outline of the stencil on paper, and fussy cutting this out. It was done on cheap copy paper, rather than masking paper. Once cut out, you place the stencil back over the colourful ink blending, making sure it’s in the right spot, then place the mask on top of this and ink blend around.

I have used a white gel pen to add in the antennas, because they did not stay in place. This panel was then trimmed down to 4″x5.25″ and adhered to a white card base with the help of foam tape. On top of this I have splattered some gold water colour, which you can get by mixing a small amount of Golden Rose paper glaze with water until you have a very liquid consistency.

No card is complete without a sentiment, and I used the ‘Friends make the world beautiful’ from the Fancy Friendship Sentiments set. To keep the card looking cohesive, I used Summer Splash ink and then used the coordinating diecut to cut it, as well as another two pieces out. These are layered up and adhered to the card, using Nuvo Deluxe adhesive.

The final touch, because it wasn’t shimmery enough *cough, cough, I have an embellishment problem* I added some gems from the Sands Of Time mix. I love this one!

In other news, it’s also Day 2 of Feature Day for LDRS! The theme is Fall Favorites but as I don’t have much stuff from LDRS yet, I winged it a bit and made a floral card and then plonked ‘Happy Fall’ on it to make it autumn-esque. Typically, I have a package coming next week with the new October Release stuff!! I can’t wait to try out the Perfect Petals layering dies!

In fairness to me, I’m still having summer vibes in my neck of the woods. It’s regularly +25C and glorious sunshine here, and lots of flowers are still blooming so it’s hard to get into ‘fall mode’. Plus I’m a summer gal through and through…

I used the Layered Poinsettia diecut and cut out LOADS of bits, in Bristol Vellum paper as I planned on doing lots of ink blending, with a splash of water colouring/ink smooshing. I wanted to try an idea to add colour to the bits, and that was to basically smoosh the pieces into the ink pads to get them covered with colour. It worked much better than ink smooshing actually, and left the colour much more vivid.

For the leaves I have used a mix of Key Lime Pie, Olive Branch and Evergreen. The little middle pieces for the flowers were done with Dan-D-Lion.

For the poinsettia leaves I did use Life Changing Blender Brushes, and I used Lipstick Jungle and Tickled Pink. I mixed and matched though, so that the layered pieces didn’t have the same colour on them. Hence why I cut out so many.

All the pieces were then layered up together using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

While my flowers and leaves were drying, I cut out a panel of white card stock using the Diagonal Stitched Postage Frame Slimline dies, and this is my base for the card.

To finish it off I stamped up ‘Happy’ using Olive Branch ink on this panel, and I also cut out the word ‘fall’ using the Chloe Lowercase Alpha dies from a piece of card stock I dabbed Dan-D-Lion ink on.

So yeah…. it’s got Spanish autumn vibes, but I did have to use lots to creative discretion here to get it to work with the theme. Maybe it was a bit of a cop-out but hey, it sure made a pretty card!

For Feature Day 1 I made another floral card, only this time I used the Potted Poinsettia stamp set and coloured it in with Copics.

Thankfully this stamp set has a coordinating diecut too, so I used that to cut the image out and on the back of this I used LOTS of foam squares to pop it up.

The background is done by heat embossing the new Luxurious Chocolate embossing powder from WOW! Embossing on strips of Superior Smooth card stock. This is WOW! Embossings own white card stock and it is, as the name says, ultra smooth and crisp white. It’s really great for heat embossing!

On the pre-cut strips I dabbed my Embossing ink really well to make sure they were coated, then I sprinkled the Luxurious Chocolate embossing powder over them, tapped off the excess and then used the heat tool to set them.

These were then adhered to a trimmed down piece of card stock, with the help of my grid mat to make sure the spacing was even. This piece was then adhered to an actual card base, and then the Poinsettias were added on top.

The final touch was to stamp up Happy Holidays, from the Potted Poinsettias stamp set, in black ink on a skinny white banner. This was trimmed down to be even smaller than the background piece and then adhered on top of the flowers.

The last thing I’ve got to share today is a fab promotion from Pinkfresh Studio!

From today until the 4th of Nov you can take 15% off standalone slimline stencils using the code SLIMST15. It’s only valid on in-stock products, while supplies last. Don’t forget to use the code at checkout.

You can see how I have used some of the stencils in the photo below, stencils really are one of my favorite things to work with. They are versatile, great value for money and so much fun to play with!

Well, I think that’s it for today. What do you think? Is this format preferred over separate blog post showing each card on it’s own? I’d love to hear what you think and what you want to see from me so I can provide content that you will enjoy.

PinkFresh Studios Inks in The House!

Hello, hello!

The ink-oholic Erica here with a very colourful post! I have had the total delight of being sent the entire range of luscious big ink pads from PinkFresh Studios and I HAD to swatch them before doing anything else! Ok, so in all honesty, the first thing I did was dance around like a dizzy emu, whilst clapping like a demented seal and squealing like a happy pig rolling round in mud! Now, that’s a mental image for you, isn’t it?? LOL! Sufficient to say, I was A TAD excited.

Ok, so the swatches are not perfect but, as mentioned, I was a bit excited. And I was still excited while I was stamping them up. I mean, the idea is to see the colours, these are staying in my craft room so I’m not sending these to anyone.

The clever swatching die and stamps are from Waffle Flower. You can find the Swatch Tag Die, Color For Ink Pads and Combo Swatch stamps separate too. These were just perfect for these inks as they come in families of four shades of each colour. You can get the Big Ink Pad Bundle or if you don’t have a huge amount of space in your craft room, they also come in a handy little Mini Cubes Bundle.

For my swatches, I’ve used I cut out loads of tags out of Neenah Solar White #110 card stock, as I wanted the swatches to be sturdy. Using the Mini MISTI, I then stamped up the swatching bit with Detail Black ink from PinkFresh Studio.

The first colour family I did was the yellows: Lemon Whip, Sunshine, Sweet Mustard and Marigold. These also come in handy Mini Cubes, called Rise And Shine.

Next up we have the peachy family: Peach Fuzz, Apricot, Clementine and Persimmon. These also come in handy Mini Cubes, aptly named Indian Summer.

Oooh, these pinks and reds have me all gooey: Coral Reef, Passion Fruit, Berrylicious and Candy Apple. They also come in Mini Cubes, with the perfect name Heartbeat.

Pretty in all the shades of pink: Ballet Slipper, Sparkling Rose, Bubble Gum and Raspberry Bliss. These also come in Mini Cubes, with the magic name Fairy Dust!

The purples are stunning: Soft Lilac, Candy Violet, Lavender and Royal Kiss. Of course, these also come in Mini Cubes and I want you to read this with your very best French accent: Soul Of Provence.

As a blue kind of gal, I’m loving these: Slumber, Blue Jay, Sapphire and Stargazer. Mini Cubes are available as well, with the dreamy name Starry Nights.

I do love all shades of blue but these have me swooning: Sky Blue, Summer Shower, Seaside and Storm. These I could easily have in both big pads and Mini Cubes, Morning Sky, just because I love them.

These dreamy teals are to die for: Ocean Breeze, Aquamarine, Mermaid Cove and Tidal Pond. Of course these gems, called Island Oasis, come in Mini Cubes as well.

Ga-ga for green? No worries, these beauties have you covered: Mint, Meadow, Emerald City and Evergreen. Mini Cubes, too, of course, called Garden Stroll.

More of a spring green kind of person? Don’t feel left out, as these will surely give you your green fix: Fresh Pear, Grassy Knoll, Key Lime and Olive. Do KNOLL worry, these come in Mini Cubes too, Over The Hill.

Looking for natural neutrals? Warm Buff, Doe, Gathered Twigs and Espresso takes card of that. In Mini Cubes too, with the delicious name Wild Truffles.

No collection is complete without some steely greys, right? Misty Coast, Rocky Slope, Metropolis and Licorice cover all your bases. In big pads and Mini Cubes, naturally, with the funky name Urban Raincoat.

With all the swatches done, I added them to a ring binder to keep them all in one place. I have already consulted them to make a card, actually. Thanks to the swatches it was super easy to pick out some bright and happy colours for the Pop-Out Rainbow stamp.

With the help of the Mini MISTI, this card took less than 10 minutes to make. SO easy, and cheerful!

I finished it off with a sentiment from the Floral Notes stamp set, stamped up with Black Detail ink. That sentiment was just perfect for a rainbow card! And perhaps a sequin… or ten. Eh, I might have gone a little bit overboard but hey, it works.

Well, with that, I’m all done for today but I do have an unboxing (I bought a LOT of stuff) and ink swatching video over on my YouTube channel as well, if you want to see the swatching in action.

As I mentioned in the beginning of this post, PinkFresh very generously sent me the entire range of inks to play with but I purchased a huge amount of stuff from them as well. Including that adorable Pop-Out Rainbow stamp, which I have had my eye on for so long! I want to reassure you that I will only ever create with stuff I love and that inspires me. I don’t know about you, but I can’t work with stuff that I don’t like, it just dries up my mojo.

I have used some compensated affiliate links to (mostly) PinkFresh Studios in this post, for your convenience, at no extra cost to you whatsoever. Any earnings I get from these affiliate links go straight back into stamps… erm… (if The Man reads this, that was an auto-correct! I swear, baby!!) the running of my blog, YouTube channel and Instagram. Thank you so much if you choose to support me by using these links, I really appreciate the support and encouragement!

Concord & 9th Feature Friday: Color Focus!

Hi guys!

Today’s post is another Concord & 9th Feature Friday, and this week we all had to pick two colours each to focus on. My two picks were Ballet Slipper and Cranberry. Which might come as a surprise given how much I’ve been loving my teal and aqua colour combos recently, but I really do love these two colours.

The Ballet Slipper pink is such a soft, romantic colour and for my project for it, I decided to go for a CAS look. Lots of white space and some gold splatters were the perfect accompaniment to keep the actual pink in focus. I used the Lace Leaf stamp and coordinating diecut and started out by stamping the shadowy bit with Ballet Slipper directly onto a white card base.

Slightly off-centre from this, I stamped the Lace Leaf. First with Ballet Slipper, and then on top of that, once more with the Embossing Pad from WOW! Embossing. I used Clear Gloss embossing powder to make the Leaf image stand out a little bit more but still keep the pink in focus.

I used the ‘Grateful’ word die, that is part of the Lace Leaf coordinating diecuts, and cut it out of white card stock four times. The top layer is cut out of a piece that had the shadowy bit of the stamp stamped up with Ballet Slipper on it. This is a fun way to make your word die a little more interesting.

To finish off the sentiment, I also heat embossed ‘for you’, from the stamp set in the bottom right corner. This is done in gold embossing powder. One last finishing touch was to splatter some water colour gold all over the background, and with that the card is done!

For my Cranberry project I have used both ink pad and cardstock, as well as my beloved Tall Type Alphabet dies and Coffee Blend Turnabout stamp.

First, I stamped up the Coffee Blend Turnabout stamp on a panel of Cranberry card stock, with Cranberry Ink! It looks so freaking fabulous with that perfect tone-on-tone colour. The MISTI and the Turnabout Jig makes turning so easy.

Using more Cranberry cardstock, I cut out the letters needed to spell out ‘I love you’ with the Tall Type Alphabet dies.

I also cut them out three times out of white card stock and layered these up with Lawn Fawn liquid glue adhesive. The O in the middle of ‘love’ is the heart from the die set.

The letters I placed on the card, using more liquid glue but it needed a little something else. It wasn’t quite right. The solution was to make the sentiment say ‘I love you more than coffee’, so I stamped up the ‘more than coffee’ from the Coffee Blend Turnabout stamp, on white card stock with Cranberry ink. Trimmed that down a little and adhered it to the ‘you’ part.

It still needed a little something else. At least I felt like it did. I mean, I am the queen of over-doing it so maybe not? However, I did add Glossy Accents to the coffee beans on the background and also to the heart diecut on the card.

Well, that’s it from me for today but don’t forget to check out all the other guest designers to see what colours they chose and what they came up with! As always, I have used compensated affiliate links in this blog post, most are to Concord & 9th. If you shop using these links, I get a small commission directly from the company, at no extra cost to you whatsoever. Thank you if you support me by shopping with these links. I really appreciate it!

Concord & 9th Feature Friday part 2!

Hello everyone and happy Feature Friday!

Today I am back with another blog post featuring the February release from Concord & 9th. If you missed the first one, where we focused on the Meadow Blossom bundle and the Brushed Stripes Background Stamp, you can find that post HERE.

img_3132

The stars of this post are the Stitched Blooms Bundle and this month’s Turnabout stamp Blooms. The bundle also come as separate pieces, with the Stitched Blooms stamp and Stitched Blooms dies. The dies have a fabulous stitched pattern that is just gorgeous!

Stitched_Blooms_Dies_-_web_ready_1024x1024

I have made quite a few cards with these goodies so let’s get to it!

img_3278

My first cards is super simple and elegant, if I may say so myself. I simply used the Stitched Bloom diecut on white card stock, twice to get a full coverage. After heat embossing one of the sentiments from the Say Hello stamp set on a strip of vellum, I wrapped this around the panel and then adhered the whole thing to a white card base.

img_3220

I wasn’t done with the Stitched Bloom diecut, and used it on a piece of water colour card stock. Then coloured it in with Atelier Ink re-inkers I had mixed with Liquid Pixie Dust. It adds sparkle to the colours and look fabulous. It’s not the easiest thing to photograph properly, but I tried.

img_3279

The colours I used for the colouring are Bee Sting Yellow, Marilyn Red and Goddess Green. I have a plastic palette where I’ve dripped a few drops of each colour, and into these, I added a drop or two of the Liquid Pixie Dust. By adding in the shimmer into the colours, I kill two birds with one stone and only need to do one bit of colouring! Genius, right??

img_3217

This card I wanted to keep quite simple as well, to keep the focus on the pattern and the colouring. I heat embossed one of the sentiments from the Stitched Bloom stamp set. I used Rich Gold WOW! Embossing powder, but heat embossed it twice to get a nice raised texture on it.

img_3213

I turned my attention to the Blooms Turnabout stamp next, and I went to town with stamping up some panels with different inks. All the inks I have used are from Altenew and naturally I had my MISTI for this part. On my first one I used pinks and light green. For the green I used only Bamboo, and for the pinks I used all four of the inks in the Cherry Blossom family. I have the Ovals but they also come in Mini Cubes.

img_3281

My second panel was bright and vivid, with yellows and light turquoise/blues. The yellows are from the Pocketful Of Sunshine, these also come in Ovals and Mini Cubes as well. The blue/turquoise inks are Sea Glass and Ocean Waves from the Cool Summer Nights. Ovals and Minis as with all of them.

img_3280

The last panel is more like a fabric pattern than ‘natural’ colours but I love how it turned out! I also tried something different with this panel and that was embossing three of the turns of the flower part with clear embossing powder.

img_3282

The colours are from the Cool Summer Nights family for the leaves, and the flowers are done in grey from the Rock Collection set. I did the three lighter colours of the grey with the clear embossing over them to see what it looked like and it’s a really cool effect!

img_3285

I decided to use the yellow and blue panel for the card though. To start with, I trimmed down the panel to 4″x5.25″ and adhered it to a light grey card base. To finish the card I needed something to go on top of it, but what?

img_3215

I decided to stamp up some of the flowers and leaves from the Stitched Bloom set on coloured card stock. I used thecoordinating diecut to cut these out and then layered some of them up. I also cut out the ‘LOVE‘ out of coloured card stock, in coordinating colour scheme with the rest of the card.

img_3283

With that, I’m all done for today but don’t forget to check out the other guest designers’ work on the Concord & 9th blog!

As always, I have used compensated affiliate links in this post. These do not cost you anything extra at all if you shop using these, but I will get a small commission from the company directly. 12 Weekends of Christmas part 2

Hello, hello!

Today’s post is the second instalment of my ’12 Weekends of Christmas’ series. If you missed the first one, click HERE to check it out. I’m also painfully aware I’m cutting it MEGA close as technically there is only 25hrs left of the weekend here in Poland at the time of publishing…! But onwards and upwards, right?

I’m still on cardmaking as that’s what I need most of at Christmas time. The cards I made for this post are so easy to mass-produce, yet look like you have spent time and effort on them. Which everyone appreciates when it comes to handmade cards, right?

The first five cards are done with just stamping and the other five have diecut details added, but I’ve used the same stamp set for all ten: Filled With Joy from MFT Stamps.

Let’s start with the more simple design. I got ten white card based cut, scored and folded, then set five of these aside. I use Neenah Classic Crest 110lb card stock for a sturdy card base. Next step was picking out the ink colours and I’ve gone for Distress Oxide here: Mowed Lawn, Cracked Pistachio, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Candied Apple.

OBVI I used my MISTI for these, because #duh 💁‍♀️ Placing the ‘Joy’ stamp in it I worked my way through the colours. Although you may have noticed that the images are not ‘solid’, but rather brushed/streaky. You get this look by dragging the ink pad across the stamp instead of dabbing it. It’s a quick way to get a slightly different look to the traditional, solid stamped one.

I did this one by one, on all five cards, starting with Mowed Lawn. This is such a gorgeous green colour.

Moving on to Cracked Pistachio, I did the same thing, and making sure the stamp overlapped a little on the first green stamped image.

Before moving on to the Mustard Seed Ink, I let the layers dry a little as it’s a lot lighter.

As the fourth colour, Spiced Marmalade, is darker again, there was no need to wait before getting on with it.

It was the same with the fifth and last colour, Candied Apple. I did use my Lawn Fawn Stamp shammy in between each colour too.

To finish these cards off, I stamped ‘Wishing you and yours’ in black ink at the top of each card. This is one of the sentiments that are part of the stamp set.

Such simple design, yet full of impact thanks to the brushed look and different colours. They are also true one-layer cards, which is another thing I struggle with. I’m usually all about the layers and dimensions but when you have to post off lots of cards, it’s so much easier with flat ones so you don’t have to weigh them all individually at the post office or risk not putting enough postage on.

The next five cards are done quite similarly, with the same ‘Joy’ stamp, only I’ve only used the green ink, Mowed Lawn, and the red one, Candied Apple.

The green is both at the top and the bottom, and the red is closest to the middle.

The last ‘Joy’ is diecut, using the coordinating Filled with Joy Die-namics, out of Brushed Gold card stock, also from MFT Stamps.

To finish off the sentiment these all have a banner across it that says ‘Sending you lots of‘ to make it say ‘Sending you lots of joy’. This extra bit of sentiment is heat embossed in WOW! Embossing Powder in Metallic Rich Gold regular.

Most of the banners are done in black card stock, I mostly use Lawn Fawn’s Black Licorice, as it’s a lovely smooth card stock.

But just to change it up a little, one is done in white. That one ended up looking nicer than I imagined and if I do more of these cards, I’ll do a few more with the white banner.

I toyed with the idea of heat embossing the last ‘Joy‘ in Gold Tinsel from Ranger but as it would have been done directly on the card base, I didn’t. I find that heat embossing more solid images warps the card stock, which isn’t a problem when you glue a panel down to a card base. However, doing it directly to the card base would potentially warp it so that it won’t stand up properly. And ain’t nobody got the time for that!

With that, I’m all done for today but thank you for stopping by. I know the blog has been a bit neglected recently but I’ll do my best to remedy that. Oh and, for your information, I have used compensated affiliate links in this post. That means I will get a small commission from the company directly, at no cost to you, if you click on one of these links and buy yourself a little something… or seven. No judgement.

Happy crafting and lots of love from Erica (who just realised I have added all the photos before adding my watermark to them… Oy)

Concord & 9th Triple-Step Thank You Feature Friday

Hi guys!

Today’s post is all about the Triple-Step Thank You stamp and diecut set from Concord & 9th.

9CA03804-C748-4F97-91CC-7DD9A1E5F666

I have had so much fun with this stamp combo I ended up with 10 projects to show you today. WAIT!! Don’t run away!! I will try and keep it short and sweet. Or at least short-ish…

2AD0FE9D-9876-4A86-B0DC-DC99D78FAD12

Let’s just dive right in, shall we? My first four cards are stamped in the same way, and with the same Distress Oxide inks but on different coloured card bases to switch things up a little bit. I really like how different Distress Oxide inks look depending on the colour of the card stock so here are some close ups of the differences.

White card stock.

B5B969F4-3A33-47E7-8704-9A120A29787D

Light grey card stock.

F3DA63BB-E714-49A0-84B3-FEC1E3F25ECB

Dark grey card stock

454FD36D-8E87-41A6-BA75-D712385C8ED6

and finally, black card stock.

6E623365-2C8B-431B-906C-CC5D042C3572

Using my MISTI for accuracy, I placed the ‘thanks‘ stamp in and started stamping with Squeezed Lemonade. Going slightly diagonally, I stamped the whole row with the yellow ink and then on the sides I used different coloured Distress Oxide inks for each row.

6FFB955B-3634-414E-9C73-AF0D73589F35

On the right side, I used yellows, through orange to red and from top to bottom is Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Carved Pumpkin, Abandoned Coral and Candied Apple.

16F59B7E-1ECA-41CD-A77D-8D0FA5A7C8DE

On the left side I’ve done pinks through reds, from the top to the bottom it’s Antique Linen, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple and Fired Brick. For the little gap left in the left hand bottom corner, I used Aged Mahogany on the white card base and Spiced Marmalade for the others as the dark red ink barely showed up on the darker card bases.

688DB255-3B54-48BA-9BA1-AFBF52C399F1

This sort of stamping is so soothing and is great for those times when you feel like your mojo is on vacation as it’s pretty mind-less but so productive, if you get what I’m trying to say? Why not make some fun and colourful backgrounds if you don’t feel inspired to do anything else but still want to craft.

65C71BD3-43A5-4D68-BFB3-8D8188CD91E8

To finish these cards off I stamped ‘Thank you so much‘ on thin strips of white card stock,  in two colours on each one to create an ombré effect. These strips were then added to the cards using foam tape. I’m still debating whether they need a few sparkly clear sequins or not but I’m trying to not put sequins on everything. The struggle is real, let me tell you, because I find simple designs quite hard to do and not overwork.

While I had all my Distress Oxide inks out I decided to do another panel, only this one is slightly bigger than an A2 sized card and here I used a different colour for each one of the ‘thanks‘. The inks used are Antique Linen, Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, Carved Pumpkin, Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple, Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany, Seedless Preserve, Wilted Violet, Shaded Lilac, Broken China, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, Faded Jeans, Iced Spruce, Hickory Smoke and Black Soot.

34ED8C89-21F4-447C-B971-40BEA063E20B

It turned out so bright and cheerful I haven’t been able to bring myself to cover it up with a sentiment or anything yet. I might just keep it as it is as it makes me really happy to see all the colours.

2E441772-EE75-4107-A9A9-221C4542161B

With more Distress Oxide inks and the heart stamps and diecuts from the Triple-Step Thank You set, I stamped up lots of hearts and cut them out. Then I stamped more hearts onto a white card base and in the gaps between these hearts I added the ones I had cut out previously, using foam tape. This one I haven’t done anything else with either. I don’t know what’s wrong with me… I find it so hard to cover up a cute background…!

F5551BA8-811E-4CDF-82D0-27930C05DC69

My next two cards were made quite quickly as I had two ombré water coloured backgrounds already made from ages ago. One is black with gold shimmer and the other one is blue with white shimmer. I used Gansai Tambi 36-pack water colours for these.

B9295EE2-B9B7-4859-8801-1B7C34A5E050

Using the Triple-Step diecut, I cut both the panels and set the cutout aside. Out of white card stock and foam sheets, I cut a piece each for each card and then stamped the Triple-Step Thank You in black/grey Distress Oxide inks on one and blues on the other one.

86ECE170-8EBA-4945-84A6-7D0EE8D291A6

I have used white card bases for these two as well. As the ombré panel is slightly smaller than the card base, it creates a thin white border around it, which adds so much interest with very little effort. The panel was added to the card using foam sheet pieces cut to size and then it was quick work puzzling the ‘thank you’ pieces together and the cards were done.

02A8F264-EDC7-4B70-B187-BE62A8F9B9D4

The next card is a bit of a fire hazard to be honest. Not once it’s finished but the making of it can take a bad turn quickly as it is a mix of alcohol inks, Yupo paper and heat embossing. This technique requires lots of caution and patience!

To start out with, I got a sheet of translucent Yupo paper out and used purple alcohol ink and silver mixative on it. Once it was fully dry, I dusted it with my anti-static tool and stamped the stripes from Stripes & Sayings in VersaMark ink on it. I decided to use Platinum embossing powder from Altenew on it.

B91CCAC8-1BC2-47DD-A482-731D0EE2BF9D

Then came the tricky part: using the heat gun to melt the embossing powder without warping the Yupo too much or setting fire to it! Make sure your heat gun is really hot and then work in small sections very quickly. And be extra careful! My Yupo warped a little bit despite the caution I exercised so I placed it under some heavy stuff to flatten before adding it to a card base and trimming off the excess. It’s not entirely flat on the card but oh well, you win some, you loose some.

D1BFEDEE-1747-4B64-95DA-B1024B14B4BC

Sentiment wise I use the Triple-Step Thank you stamp and diecut set again, and I used pink inks for this. Once it was cut out, I added it to the card with foam tape and it was done.

The final card is super simple but has a fun twist to it! I stamped up the Triple-Step Thank you in pink Distress Oxide inks, Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and Tattered Rose, and then I covered the letters with Nuvo Glow Drops Neon in Shocking Pink. These glow in the dark!! It doesn’t show very well in photos though so I will post a little video of it on my Instagram page for those of you who want to see it in action.

Phew… ok, that’s it for today. Yes, really. Oh… no, actually. Ok, my bad, I’m pretty much all done. All I have left to mention is that I have used compensated affiliate links in this post, which means I get a small commission from the company directly, at no cost whatsoever to you, if you click on one of these links and buy a thing or two. Or five. No judgements from this one! If you choose to support me by using these links, thank you so much in advance, I really, really appreciate it a lot.
