Pinkfresh Studio December 2020 Stencil and Die Release Blog Hop!

Hi everyone!

Today I am so excited to be taking part in the PinkFresh Studio December Stencil and Die release blog hop! There is a star studded line up with so many projects to ooh and ahh over. You will be spoilt for choice! Your next stop is the one and only Heather Hoffman! The full line-up can be found via the InLinkz link at the bottom.

They have a new concept for layering stencils and it’s absolutely brilliant! If you are not into colouring, but like having colour on your cards, these are a match made in crafty heaven for you. And they have coordinating diecuts too!! Say whaaat?? *faints from excitement…again*

It’s no secret I love ink blending. It’s such a fun way to add interested to a background, both with or without stencils. With all the gorgeous colours available in the Big Ink Pads, which so happens to be 30% off until the 17th, you can go to town with colour combinations!

The Diamond Plaid Stencil contains of two stencils, so you can use one on it’s own or both of them either at the same time or layered up. I did it both ways but prefer the look of them layered up to get those clean white lines.

I love the fact that there is a coordinating diecut to the Garden Florals image. It’s absolutely genius! As I like textured and dimensions I cut out four extras and layered these up for the card.
I stamped a sentiment directly on top of the flowers with Black Ink, to tie in with the black splatters. This sentiment is from Thankful For Friends stamp set.

I might have gone a tad crazy with the Garden Florals Layering Stencils, and colour combinations, but my favourite colours so far has been yellows with green, and teals with grey.

For this background I used the Diamond Plaid Stencil with Misty Coast and a tiny bit of Rocky Slope. The Garden Florals Stencils are done with Lemon Whip, Sunshine, Sweet Mustard, Marigold, Peach Fuzz, Fresh Pear and Grassy Knoll. It’s also cut out using the coordinating diecut, and layered up with a few of those. The sentiment is from Thankful For Friends and I stamped it directly on top of the flowers with Black Ink.
This sentiment is from Floral Notes stamp set and I stamped it up with Metropolice ink.
The ‘you‘ I have cut out of black card stock three times and layered up, before double heat embossing it clear embossing powder.

As I said, I have gone a tad crazy and made quite a few cards. Some clean and simple and some with colours, textures and layers. A few gold splatters always work, right?

I have plenty more cards coming in the next few days, as well as YouTube videos, because this release sparked my creativity in a major way. It also helped me keep my mind of yet another heartbreak that have hit me and my family. My sweet, lovely, generous and supportive mother-in-law passed away last week and oh man, even knowing that I had to brace myself for the news, it hit me like a ton of bricks. It’s been really hard and I’m so thankful for having crafting as a tool for coping with the grief.

Well, now that I got all that off my chest, let’s get to the good stuff:
