Hello everyone!
Today the newest release from Altenew, their July release, is available to purchase, but I have already had three of the sets since I went to the workshop in the UK last month. My favourite has to be the Life Is Awesome set. It’s full of gorgeous fluffy flowers and comes as a single set with coordinating diecuts or you can buy them as a bundle.
I’ve recently gotten both the Mega Alphabet set as well as the Pocket Banner Die. My husband is very good at spoiling me and these were my anniversary present from him. Bless that man, he knows how to treat his lady. Having all these lovely new goodies, I decided to make a colourful banner for my craft room with my name on. The light isn’t the best but you get the idea.
To start with I got a sheet of 8.5″x11″ white card stock out, as well as lots of Altenew inks and then I stamped away on it until it was almost entirely covered with pretty flowers. The inks I used as from the Sea Shore, Cool Summer Night, Deep Blue Sea and Sweet Dreams sets as well as Bamboo Oval ink pad.
I have a time-lapse video on my Instagram feed with the stamping process. Click HERE to check that out.
Using the Pocket Banner Die I cut out four pieces from this sheet as well as one more which I also stamped up with more flowers to make five for each letter of my name.
On another piece of white card stock, I sprayed Ocean Waves ink spray, very loosely to give just a bit of colour to it. Once it was dry, I cut each letter out of it using the Mega Alphabet dies. I also cut the same letters out of black card stock to place behind the white/splattered letters, to shadow them so they do not completely disappear amongst all the flowers.
To string the banner I used some lovely blue embroidery floss and yellow felt balls to space them out evenly. I would have loved to have had some felt balls in smaller sizes to really fill in the gaps and think I will be ordering some very shortly because I would love to make a banner like this for my sweet little niece Emma. Only I will use pinks and purples for her.
Well, that’s it from me for today but please do use the compensated affiliate links from Altenew I have used in this post if you fancy buying a little something-something for yourself. It won’t cost you anything extra to use these links, however the company will give me a small commission directly as a reward for using them. Thank you so much in advance if you choose to support me like this! I really appreciate it!
Thank you for stopping by and happy crafting!
Lots of love from Erica
What a lovely thing to have in your craft room! The flower pattern is gorgeous – I thought it was patterned paper when I first glanced at it…

Thank you! I have always wanted something like this but haven’t gotten around to making one until now. These stamps are beautiful and I love that you thought it was patterend paper at first, that’s a win to me!
