Hello, hello!
Today I’m very honoured to be part of a very fun blog hop hosted by Altenew, and you should have come here from the oh, so talented Virginia Lu but the full list of the blog hop will be at the bottom of this post in case you get lost along the way or go back to the Altenew Card Blog.
Isn’t this banner so fun and colourful? I love colours and to do colouring so I’m thrilled to be part of this blog hop. I often colour just for the fun of it and end up with lots of images ready for card making, it’s such a lovely way to have some me-time and clear your head.
I have had the Pattern Play-Circle stamp for ages but never used it so I thought why not try it for this project with my Artist Markers. If you don’t have any of these markers but are tempted, there is a 15% off offer on right now. Just use the code HAPPYCOLORS at checkout, it’s valid on all the individual and full sets so treat yourself!
As the markers are alcohol based, I stamped the image on Neenah Classic Crest 110lbs card stock with Permanent Black Crisp Dye ink and got to work. I used markers from Set A, Set B and Set C to colour in all the circles, going for a gemstone agate slice look i.e. not too blended. The only plan was to make it look fun and colourful, the rest I just winged. I love colouring like that, with not a care in the world apart from having a good time.
To make it into a card, I trimmed down the panel to a 5.5″x4.24″ piece and adhered it to a card base. I also stamped and heat embossed a sentiment, ‘Surround yourself with people who love you!’, from the stamp set, Pattern Play-Circle, on black card stock with Platinum embossing powder from Altenew’s embossing powder selection.
I cut the card stock with the sentiment in half and trimmed them down and added a slant on the edges. These two I added to the card with foam tape.
A few clear sparkling sequins later and the card was done.
My second project is a bit bigger and more time-consuming. It took me a few days to colour in the image but I think it was well worth it to be honest. If I may say so myself.
For this one I used the Mega Succulent stamp and stamped it on Neenah Classic Crest 110lbs card stock with Grapewine dye ink. You can get that one as a single ink pad or as part of a 4-pack. I’ve only used red Artist Markers for this one, the Red Cosmos set as well as Cotton Candy from the Four Scoops set.
After spending so much time on this piece, I just didn’t have the heart to cut it up so I decided to frame it and gift it to my sister-in-law for her birthday in a few days.
It did need a little something though so I heat embossed a sentiment from the Be Strong stamp set, ‘live every moment, laugh every day, love beyond words’ in Antique Gold but I should have chosen a darker one, it doesn’t show up very well unless you look closely.
Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to six lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog by Wednesday, July 18th for a chance to win. Six winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 7/22/2018.

Your card is fabulous!! I love the bright colors. But I have to say the Mega Succulent is stunning!! Framing your creation was a great idea and I’m certain your Sister-in-law will love it. While a darker embossing powder would stand out, I feel the subtlety of the gold just entices the observer to take a closer look. Beautifully done!!

Thank you so much and my husband agrees with you about the embossing, he likes that it’s subtle too.
